Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU) is a specialized state university headquartered in Nagpur, Maharashtra. It was established in December 2000 to advance higher education, research and extension work in veterinary and animal sciences, dairy technology and fisheries. Students searching for MAFSU, MAFSU Nagpur or Maharashtra Veterinary University will find a university whose academic mission connects scientific learning with animal health, food production and the livelihoods supported by these sectors. The university brings together constituent colleges and institutes in different parts of Maharashtra rather than operating as a single-programme campus. Its academic areas include veterinary and animal sciences, dairy technology and fisheries science. Official degree information lists the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.), Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.), B.Tech in Dairy Technology and postgraduate or research pathways in relevant fields. Programme availability, seat distribution and eligibility can vary by faculty and college. MAFSU combines professional education with research and outreach relevant to veterinary practice, livestock management, fisheries, aquaculture and dairy production. Its mission also emphasizes animal welfare, public health, rural development and the transfer of practical knowledge to farming and fishing communities. This makes the university relevant to students who want to connect biological science with applied animal, dairy or aquatic sectors. Students comparing MAFSU BVSc, fisheries science or dairy technology options should check current entrance requirements and admission notifications on the official MAFSU portal. For example, the university's published degree information specifies NEET-UG for its veterinary undergraduate programme and other entrance routes for dairy and fisheries degrees. Krishnangan can help connect the university overview with appropriate courses and career pathways.
